Camden Federation of Tenants and Residents Association (Camden Fed or CFTRA) is a voluntary organisation that represents the interest of Council tenants in Camden. The organisation was established in 1972 at a time of national concern about housing conditions. Since then Camden Fed has built up a range of services for its members and led many campaigns on behalf of tenants.
Join today
The membership of Camden Fed consists of the local tenant and residents associations (TRAs) formed on most estates. In addition other organisations of tenants and leaseholders are in membership together with individuals who have associate membership that enables them to attend meetings and speak but not to vote.
We are a company limited by guarantee and managed by a management committee of council tenants elected at the annual general meeting by and from representatives from member TRAs. Members of the management committee are our registered directors of the company.
Offices
Camden Fed is based at offices located at 11 – 17 The Marr, Camden Street, London, NW1 0HE (see our contacts for full location details.
Relationship with Camden Council
Camden Fed contracts with Camden council’s housing department to carry out some of its resident participation work with council tenants. The money that Camden Fed receives from Camden Council is from the Housing Revenue Account that is established from the rents and charges paid by council tenants in the borough. The Fed is also host to the London Tenant’s Federation whose worker is based at our offices. The latter is currently funded by London Councils.
